Ms. Marei is a member of the Banking and Finance Team since February 2015. She mainly specializes in banking and finance including negotiating, drafting and concluding syndicated loan and credit facility agreements, debt rescheduling agreements and related security documents. She also assisted in major project finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions and issuance of bonds.

Since joining the firm, she assisted in major project finance, syndicated and bilateral lending transactions involving amongst others, leading financial institutions and companies on behalf of clients both domestically and internationally including National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, Arab African International Bank, Commercial International Bank (Egypt) S.A.E., Al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait, National Bank of Canada, African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank)…etc

During the period from 2009 till 2014, Ms. Marei worked as a senior attorney at the legal department of the Commercial International Bank (Egyot) S.A.E, one of the leading Banks in Egypt, where she handled financing projects and assisted in finalizing other banking transactions, in addition to providing daily legal advice to the different departments and branches of the Bank.

Ms. Marei obtained her LL.B. from Cairo University in 2009, and completed her LL.M degree in International and Comparative Law from the Indiana University, Robert H. McKinney School of Law (Indianapolis) LL.M program which took place at Cairo University in 2011. In addition, she obtained her masters degree in Finance and Responsible Banking from IEB (Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles – Madrid) in collaboration with the World Saving Banks Institute, and in association with the London School of Economics in 2016.

Ms. Marei is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association and her working languages are Arabic and English.
